MV Bart Roberts

The Bart Roberts, formerly the CCGS Narwal, has undergone a major refit to convert it from an ice-breaking navigation aids tender to one of the worlds largest expedition yachts.

The PMC propulsion control system includes three bridge stations and one machinery control room station. At each station there is a PMC Type 5400 dual lever remote control head, providing independent port and starboard control. Each lever provides combined control of pitch and speed.

A PMC Type 8201 pushbutton style engine order telegraph is installed at the center bridge and the machinery control room station for emergency backup communication between the bridge and the machinery control room.

The PMC D-MaC (Digital Marine Control) ensures maximum propulsion versatility. The fast, yet stable automatic load control maintains optimum loading on the engines.

All critical machinery functions on this vessel are continuously monitored and displayed by the PMC INTEGRATED MACHINERY, ALARM and CONTROL SYSTEM. The IMACS combines two independentOmni Chiefdistributed control and monitoring systems and two ship's computers.
